MIRPUR: Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Ch. Anwar ul Haq praised the valuable contribution of overseas Kashmiris in advocating the Kashmir issue globally, emphasizing their role in promoting peace and development.
Speaking to a delegation led by AJK Minister for Communications Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq from Dadayal at Jammu Kashmir House in the federal metropolis on Sunday, Prime Minister Haq highlighted the significance of early peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
The delegation, which included Counselor Sandoval Council United Kingdom Khayyam Naseem Kayani and former President Bar Association Dadyal Nadeem Kayani Advocate, congratulated Mr. Kayani on his election as a councilor and expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Haq’s efforts in highlighting the Kashmir issue both domestically and internationally.
PM Haq reiterated his government’s commitment to promoting the Kashmir cause and ensuring good governance in the liberated territory, pledging to utilize all available resources for the ongoing freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Azad Jammu Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry emphasized the need for unified efforts to counter India’s disruptive agenda in the region.
Speaking at an Iftar dinner, he highlighted the launch of a public awareness campaign from Mirpur aimed at exposing the human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir and advocating for Kashmiri self-determination on the global stage.
Chaudhry criticized Indian Prime Minister Modi’s use of Kashmir as a political tool, alleging it to be a ploy to secure electoral gains.He called for collective action to address the worsening situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and underscored the responsibility of all Kashmiris in advancing the freedom movement.
Regarding local issues, Chaudhry pledged to address concerns in Mirpur, including the Rathoa Haryam Bridge issue, and announced efforts to improve road infrastructure in the area. In addressing unemployment, he promised opportunities based on merit for educated youth.
Chaudhry’s remarks highlighted a commitment to both local development and the broader Kashmiri struggle for rights and autonomy.He urged overseas Kashmiris to advocate for the cause internationally, emphasizing the resilience of Kashmiris against Indian oppression despite escalating violence in the region.

AJK leaders Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Sheikh Abdul Mateen and Imtiaz Wani in a joint statement issued in Islamabad said that banning a political organization on fabricated charges has exposed the real face of fascist India under Modi.
They said that anyone who raised his voice for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris was suppressed on one pretext or another.
The Hurriyat AJK leaders said that Kashmiris are making unprecedented sacrifices against the illegal Indian occupation, and vowed that New Delhi cannot suppress the spirit of freedom by killing or arresting innocent people.
Notably, the Modi government has already banned Jamaat-e-Islami, Muslim League, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Dukhtaran-e-Millat and Muslim Conference for their important role in the ongoing freedom movement in IIOJK.
