MIRPUR:Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ulHaqhas paid a surprise visit to Ch. Ghulam Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences in the state metropolis and assessed the health cover facilities being delivered to the ailing humanity by the state-run institution.
During his visit, the PM went round to various hospital departments and ordered the provision of quality treatment facilities to patients, early purchase of medicines, and necessary equipment, including MRI and CT scanners.
He also directed to ensure 100% free supply of medicines to OT, gynecology, and emergency patients.
He said that provision of additional funds for the supply of medicines and purchase of necessary equipment would also be ensured. He announced the immediate provision of 20 contingent posts to address the oversupply of sanitation workers while describing the sanitation arrangements in the health facility as unsatisfactory.
On this occasion, the AJK PM was accompanied by Senior Ministers Waqar Ahmed Noor, Chaudhry AzharSadiq, NisarAnsarAbdali, and Faheem Akhtar Rabbani. Meanwhile, Chaudhry Anwar ulHaq visited different areas of the capital city, Muzaffarabad, including Gojra, Jalalabad, SainSohaili Sarkar, and Tariqabad.
On this occasion, the AJK PM directed the administration to instruct the people to adopt safety measures and stay away from dangerous areas/spots at risk of landsliding or flash- flooding during the monsoon.
He also instructed the administration to be vigilant to deal with any emergency situation. The PM was accompanied by Faisal MumtazRathore, Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Chaudhry Mohammad Rasheed, and other pertinent officials of the government.
Meanwhile, Brussels-based Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Chairman Ali Raza Syed has called for an immediate and impartial investigation into the tragic deaths of three protesters during a demonstration in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In a statement released, Ali Raza Syed expressed deep concern over the severe situation in AJK, urging the authorities to take immediate steps to restore normalcy through peaceful negotiations.
He emphasized that coercion and violence are not the solution to the crisis, and the problem should be resolved through dialogue.
The KCEU chief noted the government’s announcement to address the protesters’ demands, including making flour and electricity available at lower prices. However, he condemned the subsequent use of force against the demonstrators, which resulted in the loss of three lives and several injuries.
He warned that violence will only complicate the situation further, making it difficult for the government to control the fallout.
He appealed to the protesters to remain peaceful and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
The KCEU chairman also expressed sympathy for the families of the victims and urged the AJK and Pakistani authorities to seriously consider the complex and sensitive circumstances and take immediate decisive steps to address the concerns of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, Kashmiri leader Mehbooba Mufti accuses India of trying to enslave the people of Jammu and Kashmir and calls for a collective fight against New Delhi’s hostile approach, vowing to reclaim the rights of the Kashmiris.
Addressing a public rally, Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), criticized New Delhi’s decisions since August 5, 2019 as hostile and anti-Kashmiri.
She urged Kashmiris to unite and fight against India’s assault on their rights and resources. “Our youth are suffering and our resources are being plundered. We must fight back to reclaim our rights,” she said.
Mufti vowed to represent Kashmiris’ aspirations with determination and energy if elected and called for full support and cooperation from the public.
