Chief Secretary GB reviews progress on critical PSDP projects in Baltistan region

SKARDU: Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, Abrar Ahmad Mirza, chaired a comprehensive progress review meeting on three critical Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) projects in the Baltistan Region. The meeting was held at the Commissioner’s Conference Hall and attended by senior officials from various departments.
The projects reviewed included the 26 MW Shagharthang Hydropower Project, the 250-bed Hospital in Skardu, and the Gorikot to Skardu Road project.
The Project Director of the Shagharthang Hydropower Project provided a detailed briefing on the project’s current status, progress, key achievements, financial allocations, and challenges.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the critical importance of the Shagharthang Hydropower Project for the region’s energy stability and economic growth. He directed the concerned departments to expedite the resolution of issues hindering progress and ensure efficient utilization of allocated funds. He also stressed the need for collaborative efforts to support the project’s successful completion.
Progress on the 250-bed Hospital in Skardu and the Gorikot to Skardu Road project was also reviewed.
The Chief Secretary underscored the importance of these infrastructure projects for the health and connectivity of the region.
He urged all relevant departments to maintain a high level of commitment and coordination to meet project deadlines and deliver quality outcomes for the people of Baltistan.
