A video showing Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur distributing cash to party workers has gone viral on social media, just hours before the party postponed its Islamabad rally. The event, initially scheduled for today at Islamabad’s Tarnol, will now be held on September 8.
The delay followed the abrupt cancellation of the rally’s permit by local authorities, leading to road closures towards Islamabad and Rawalpindi.PTI leaders had vowed to go ahead with the rally, but overnight blockades on motorways and major routes forced a change in plans.
The situation also prompted the closure of schools in Islamabad today. Amid this, PTI announced it would reschedule the rally for September 8 upon receiving a new No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the local administration.
The viral video shows Gandapur distributing cash among party workers and rescue personnel, with PTI leader Shibli Faraz also present. The video has drawn mixed reactions online, with users speculating on the timing and motive behind the cash handout.
Meanwhile, Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has accused the current party leadership of having no intention of freeing him from jail. Her comments came in response to the postponement of today’s PTI rally in Tarnol, Islamabad.
Aleema Khan questioned why Azam Swati, a PTI leader, visited Imran Khan early in the morning and who instructed him to deliver the message about the rally postponement. She expressed skepticism about the feasibility of such a meeting at 7:30 AM at Adiala Jail and alleged that the decision to cancel the rally was made under pressure from the establishment.
She criticised the current PTI leadership for not having the courage to face the party’s supporters and for making decisions without consulting the founder.Aleema Khan claimed that the leadership has no real intention of securing Imran Khan’s release and is instead using his name while making decisions independently.
Earlier today, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced the postponement of its planned rally in Islamabad’s Tarnol Chowk until September 8, following instructions from party founder Imran Khan.”The decision was finalised after senior PTI leaders Omar Ayub Khan, Azam Swati, and Barrister Gohar met with Imran Khan at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
