Advisor on Information for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Saif, stated that protests will continue until Imran Khan is released and the cases against him are dismissed.

Reacting to the statements of federal ministers Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal, Barrister Saif mentioned that the PML-N ministers have once again started to panic over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for peaceful protests. He emphasized that peaceful protest is their democratic and constitutional right.

According to Express News, he added that the government is trembling at PTI’s protests. The protests will persist until false cases are dismissed and the PTI founder is released.

According to Saif, the illegitimate government is trying to extend its rule by turning these peaceful protests into something like the Model Town incident.

Barrister Saif asserted that the government’s low-handed tactics will ultimately backfire. He criticized Khawaja Asif for becoming a minister through Form 47 after losing to a woman in the elections. He referred to Ahsan Iqbal as a self-proclaimed intellectual now using the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) issue for political point-scoring.

The provincial advisor further stated that the country’s economy has come to a standstill under the rule of the illegitimate government and that national progress is impossible under authoritarianism. He accused the government of vainly trying to use events like the Shanghai Conference to advance its political agenda.

According to him, the root cause of Pakistan’s economic and political crises is this illegitimate regime, and until its removal, any organizational meetings or initiatives will remain futile.Earlier, Ahsan Iqbal compared the terrorism in Karachi to the “political terrorism” displayed by the PTI.

He highlighted that during this crucial period, PTI has announced plans for protests at D-Chowk. Ahsan Iqbal recalled that in 2014, PTI protests effectively disrupted a visit from the Chinese president and expressed concerns over their earlier efforts to undermine the CPEC project.
