Chief Minister of the region Haji Gulbar Khan while presiding over a high-level committee meeting pertaining to health sector has directed the authorities to ensure the functioning of 30 bed hospitals at Randu, Kharmang, Gorikot,Gupis, Darel, Tangir and Shiger in order to provide the healthfacilities to the people of these areas at their door step. According to press release, Chef Minister of the area also directed to get complete the projects with-in the stipulated period because the un-necessary revision in the development projects caused loss to the national exchequer, where-as he has expressed his satisfaction over the construction work of 250 bed hospital Skardu and dissatisfaction over the construction work of PHQ hospital. Chief Minister of the region has directed the Secretary health to prepare the posting and transfer policy and presented the same before the regional cabinet during its next meeting for approval and the said policy should not be delayed any more. Chief Minister has also took notice about the inadequate cleanliness system of the hospitals and directed to the concern secretary ensure the cleanliness in the hospitals and only capable persons be employed to ensure the cleanliness in the hospitals.
Development projects of the region were not being completed with-in the stipulated period of contract due to various reasons including the un-predicted weather condition of the region as well as non-releasing of funds with-in time. Government of the region has constructed 30 bed hospitals at different places of the region in order to provide health facilities to the people of these areas at their door step, hut these hospitals have not been made fully functional due to which people of the respective areas were facing hardships. Now the Chief Minister of the region has directed the concern authorities to ensure the functioning of these hospitals, which is indeed good news for the people of these area and it could be expected that heath department of the regional government would provide necessary equipment’s and medicines besides posting of doctors and other paramedic staff. Chief Minister of the area also directed to the secretary health to prepare the posting and transfer policy pertaining to doctors and other paramedic/technical staff and said policy may be placed before the regional cabinet during its next meeting for approval. It may be pertinent to mention here that due to non-framing of proper policy, doctors and other staff belonging to remote districts of the region were preferred to perform their duties at main cities of the region instead of performing their duties at DHQ/other Hospitals of the respective districtsdue to which patients belonging to remote areas have to visit to main cities to resolve their petty nature health issues. As regards to inadequate cleanliness system in the hospitals of the region, Chief Minister of the area has rightly observed that persons who were not capable to carry-out the cleanliness in proper manner have been inducted in various hospitals of the area due to which they were unable to maintain the hygiene and proper cleanliness in the hospitals, therefore, capable persons are required to be inducted in the major hospitals of the area, so that proper cleanliness and hygiene system could be maintained in these hospitals. We may expected that the concern authorizes of the health department would implement the directives of the Chief Minister and ensure the functioning of different 30 bed hospitals of the area in order to provide health facilities to the people at their door step.
